OKLAHOMA CITY – Energy FC today unveiled a new kit for the 2021 season. In a departure from more conservative and traditional looks in the past, this new uniform combination supplied by adidas features Shock Pink and Energy Green interwoven with the Zig Zag pattern. The shorts of the field player kit are also Shock Pink with white accents, and the socks are white with Shock Pink accents.
To pay homage to the progressive changes that have been made throughout Oklahoma City in recent decades and the electric atmosphere at Taft Stadium, the look and theme of this line is being referred to as “Electric City”, with the moniker emblazoned across the yolk on the back of the shirt.
“Energy FC represents the people of Oklahoma City," said Billy Walton, Energy FC Director of Marketing and Communications. “They are why we play. For 2021, we wanted to take the electricity of this city and put it directly on the pitch. The colors and design of this kit represent the excitement and the energy of our club and our city. The Electric City moniker is one that we believe our supporters can rally behind to show the USL and the nation that Oklahoma City and Energy FC are electric.”
“It’s a different look for us and one that’s going to get a lot of attention, which is what we want to accomplish this year,” said forward Jonathan Brown. “After a few down years, we’re looking to make a statement, and this kit, in addition to our play on the pitch, is going to help us do that.”
The goalkeeper jerseys also received a makeover this season. The primary goalkeeper kit will be pink with gray accents, and the secondary will be gray with pink accents.
Field player and goalkeeper jerseys are available for purchase with name and number personalization now at shop.energyfc.com. Orders placed online by Friday, April 23 will include a complimentary Energy FC knit scarf, and buyers will be sent an email to enter to win one of four pairs of adidas Ultraboost shoes.
The team will wear the Electric City kits for the first time in the 2021 home opener against rivals FC Tulsa on Saturday, April 24 at 7:30 p.m. at Taft Stadium.
