Energy FC received forward Adam Jahn on loan from the Columbus Crew, Head Coach Steve Cooke announced today.  The transaction is pending approval from U.S. Soccer Federation and the league.

Born in Davis, CA, Jahn is a veteran of 103 matches in MLS with Columbus Crew and San Jose Earthquakes.  He’s accounted for 12 goals, two assists in 3,188 minutes played at the MLS level.  His best season was the 2016 campaign when he split time between San Jose and Columbus.  He appeared in 22 matches, played 555 minutes and scored six goals.

Before being drafted the first round of the 2013 MLS Supplemental Draft by San Jose, he played four seasons at Stanford where he registered 24 goals and 12 assists in his career.  His best season was his final for the Cardinal when he scored a career-high 13 goals and was named to the All-Pac 12 First team.  He has national team experience with the U.S. U-18 and U-20 squads.

“We are delighted add a player with the character and talent of Adam,” said Cooke.  “He’s a player with a tremendous amount of experience at the MLS level but also has achieved success and won a championship with Sacramento in our league.  In addition to his quality of play on the field, we know he will add to the hard-working culture and professionalism of our locker room as well.”

Jahn could be on the 18-man roster as early as tomorrow when Energy FC hosts Fresno FC at 7:30 p.m. at Taft Stadium.
