Energy FC signed Atiba Harris, Head Coach Steve Cooke announced today.  The transaction is pending approval from U.S. Soccer Federation and the league.

Harris is a veteran of 276 matches in MLS, most recently with FC Dallas.  He appeared in 85 matches and scored five goals with FC Dallas from 2015 – 17.  This season, he’s played seven matches with Murcielagos of the Ascenso MX league.  He also has MLS experience with Real Salt Lake, Chivas USA, Vancouver Whitecaps, Colorado Rapids and San Jose Earthquakes.  He’s recorded 31 goals in those 276 matches.

In addition to his play at the MLS level, he has substantial experience at the international level with his native country of Saint Kitts and Nevis.  He’s served as team captain and has played 60 matches and has scored 14 goals for the Caribbean island nation.  He is the first player from the nation of Saint Kitts and Nevis to sign and MLS contract.

“We are delighted to have added a player of such excellent experience and quality to our roster.  Not only is Atiba an accomplished player, he is a person of the highest character and work ethic,” said Cooke.  “I have no doubt that Atiba will be a big addition to our team both on and off the pitch and in the community.  We look forward to welcoming Atiba and his family to OKC.”

Energy FC returns to action July 4 on the road against San Antonio.  The team’s next home match is July 7 against Colorado Springs Swtichbacks FC.  Kickoff for both matches is 7:30 p.m.
