Energy FC signed midfielder Ryley Kraft to a contract, Head Coach Steve Cooke announced today. The contract is subject to league and federation approval.
Kraft played parts of the 2017 campaign with Orlando City B where he appeared in seven matches and played 515 minutes. The 20-year old from Roseville, CA played two seasons with Sacramento Republic’s U-17/18 Pro Academy where he scored 12 goals in 46 appearances.
Prior to signing his contract with Orlando City B, he earned a call up to the U.S. U-19 team. He was a trialist with New England Revolution earlier this season.
“Ryley is a young pro who is hungry to improve and continue the development of his career,” said Cooke. “He has a good technical base and has a high soccer intelligence. The addition of him to our club enables him to progress, to challenge for a place on our team and ultimately begin a long and successful career.”
Energy FC’s next matches are on the road in the Pacific Northwest. June 10, they take on Seattle Sounders FC 2 at 3:30 p.m. (ct) followed by a match with Portland Timbers 2 on June 13 at 9 p.m. (ct). Their next home match is June 16 at 7:30 p.m. against Rio Grande Valley FC.
