Energy FC dropped a tough match to Reno 1868 FC at Taft Stadium.  Alex Dixon scored his first goal of the season for the only tally for The Greens.

A slow start put Energy FC behind just two minutes into the match.  A corner kick by Reno 1868 FC midfielder Jerry van Ewijk was headed in by defender Zach Carroll to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.  After the slow start, Energy FC was able to rebound.

Alex Dixon tied the match 1-1 in the 34th minute with his first goal of the season.  A ball was played from the left wing by defender Kyle Hyland.  The ball served by Hyland was headed back across the box by Christian Voleskky to Dixon who took a touch and smashed the ball past Reno 1868 FC goalkeeper J.T Marcinkowski.

The teams traded shots and chances for the remainder of the half and through much of the second.  The game turned in the 76th minute when Brent Richards collected a turnover and served it into the middle of the box where Mfeka put a well-placed shot past Energy FC goalkeeper Matt VanOekel.

Energy FC pressed during the final 15 minutes of the match but were not able to mount a serious offensive threat.

The Greens return to the pitch next Sunday against Seattle Sounders 2 at 3:30 p.m. (ct).  That is followed quickly by a match on the road against Portland Timbers 2 on June 13.  The next home match is June 16 at 7:30 p.m. against Rio Grande Valley FC.
