Energy FC were knocked out of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup by NTX Rayados, after three goals in extra time gave the hosts a 5-2 victory.

Energy FC  fell behind in the 40th minute, when Rayados were able to get to the end line, cut the ball back and slot it into an open net.

OKC looked much sharper in the second half and quickly leveled the score after a handball in the box gave the Greens a penalty in the 51st minute. Philip Rasmussen stepped up and calmly converted from the spot.

Just nine minutes later, Jose Barril squared a pass to Miguel Gonzalez, whose first-time shot beat the keeper from the top of the box to put the Greens ahead.

It looked like Energy FC would see out the remainder of the match and move on to the next round, but Rayados were awarded another penalty in the 90th minute, which they converted.

In extra time, Rayados took the lead in the 105th minute, added another from the penalty spot four minutes later and scored their fifth goal from distance with two minutes remaining.

Next up for OKC is a league match at Taft Stadium against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on Saturday night. That one is set to kick off at 7:00 p.m.
