Energy FC acquired Christian Volesky in a trade with Saint Louis FC, Head Coach Steve Cooke announced today, with Energy FC sending an international roster spot to Saint Louis to complete the transaction.
Volesky, a 6-1, 171-pound forward from Henderson, Nevada is in fourth professional season. He’s played 37 matches with Saint Louis during the last two seasons and has scored nine goals. Prior to joining Saint Louis FC, the 25-year-old played two seasons with Rochester Rhinos where he led the team in goals both seasons. Volesky was a member of the USL Cup-winning side in 2015.
Prior to turning pro, Volesky played the majority of his collegiate career with Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville where he scored 29 goals in 73 matches. During the summer of 2014, he played for the Premier Development League's FC Tucson where he scored three goals in six matches.
