Energy FC dropped their fourth straight match with a 3-0 loss to the Portland Timbers 2 at Taft Stadium.

The first 20 minutes of the match saw Energy FC stymied on two different opportunities as the result of corner kicks.  Defender Christian Ibeagha, up on the play, had the ball at his feet on both occasions but struck the ball over the crossbar on both occasions.

Portland opened the scoring in the 34th minute when Augustine Williams was able to break free from the defenders and send a pass into the middle of the box that was converted by forward Foster Langsdorf.

Just three minutes later, Energy FC forward Jaime Siaj earned a free ball and got a clean shot on the goal of goalkeeper Kendall McIntosh but hit the far post.

Looking for the equalizer, Energy FC were nearly rewarded off of another corner kick.  On the service from Miguel Gonzalez, Siaj flicked a header that went just wide of the cage in the 51st minute.

Timbers 2 would extend their lead to 2-0 in the 54th minute.  After an Energy FC defender fell down, Williams chipped a pass over the top of the remaining defenders to Victor Arboleda who found his way into the box, waited and sent a shot that evaded OKC defender Kyle Hyland and went just under the leg of Energy FC goalkeeper Matt Van Oekel.

The 57th minute saw the homecoming for OKC native Lamar Batista.  The Heritage Hall graduate has played the last two seasons in the Portland Timbers organization.

Portland stood firm in the final 30 minutes of the match and kept Energy FC from any serious threats.  Batista converted on a penalty kick in the 84th minute to eliminate any chance of an Energy FC comeback.

The Greens return to training this week in preparation for their match next Saturday on the road against the Swope Park Rangers at 7:30 p.m. Their next home match is Saturday, April 21 against Saint Louis FC.
