Juan Niño signs contract with Energy FC

Energy FC signed midfielder Juan Niño to a contract Head Coach Steve Cooke announced today.  The transaction is pending league, Federation and ITC approval.

Born in Colombia, but raised in Texas, Niño, played the majority of last season with FK Lovcen in Serbia.  He also appeared in two games with San Antonio FC.  He has experience as a pro in Colombia with Atletico Huila and Barranquilla.  Nino began his pro career in 2013 with the Charlotte Eagles.

Prior to turning pro, he played four seasons at Liberty University.  With the Flames, he appeared in 74 matches, scored seven goals and added 19 assists.  At Liberty, he was teammates with his cousin and current Energy FC captain Juan Pablo Guzman for two seasons.

The addition of Niño brings the number of players on Energy FC’s roster to 21.  They join goalkeepers Matt Van Oekel and Bryan Byars; defenders Kyle Hyland, Richard Dixon, Shawn McLaws, Coady Andrews, Max Gunderson and Christian Ibeagha; midfielders Juan Pablo Guzman, Jose Barril, Philip Rasmussen, Callum Ross, Joseph Adjei, Justin Chavez, and Alex Dixon; forwards Miguel Gonzalez, Jose Angulo, Jaime Siaj and Jonathan Brown.
