Energy FC continued their preseason winning ways with a 3 - 0 victory over the University of Tulsa Men’s Soccer team in Tulsa, OK.
Miguel Gonzalez put Energy FC up in the 15th minute by slotting home a left-footed shot with just the keeper to beat. OKC controlled possession for the majority of the match with numerous chances on goal.
New signing and OKC high school standout Christian Ibeagha scored his first goal for The Greens in the second half off of a corner from Jonathan Brown in the 52nd minute. Energy FC Head Coach Steve Cooke took the opportunity of a 2 - 0 lead and pre-season environment to make numerous substitutions in the second half.
Alex Dixon scored the third goal of the day using his speed to slip by defenders and fire a shot into the roof of the net in the 84th minute. Matt Van Oekel and Bryan Byars share another clean sheet for the Energy in the victory.
Notable substitutes in the second half include Philip Rasmussen who is returning from a major knee surgery in the 2017 season and recent signing, OKC native Justin Chavez.
Chavez returned to his alma mater, The University of Tulsa, with his brand new team after signing with Energy FC on Friday after playing the last three seasons with the Tampa Bay Rowdies.
