Energy FC announced today the addition of Danny Stone to the coaching staff of Head Coach Steve Cooke. He joins Jon Pearlman and Alexis Vizarelis as members of the coaching staff.
Stone has spent the last seven seasons working with the Colorado Rapids of the MLS. Since 2015, he’s worked as a full time coach. From 2010 – 2014, he worked as Technical Director at Downtown Las Vegas Soccer Club where he oversaw the first Alliance club relationship with the Rapids. He moved to Denver in 2014 to serve as Rapids Alliance Director and coach of the Rapids U18 Development Team. With Colorado, he also worked alongside current Energy FC coach Steve Cooke as First Team Assistant Coach during the 2017 campaign.
During his tenure in Las Vegas, he coached several elite players and earned national recognition for his clubs and teams. He’s coached U.S. Youth National team camps and been a part of regional training and coaching staffs since 2008.
“My existing relationship with Steve was a key factor in the decision to come to OKC,” said Stone. “The opportunity to come to an established and successful organization with the goal to improve is an exciting challenge. We have the opportunity to improve the professional side as well as improve the aspirational model for the development with the club from the U23s through the OEFC teams.”
The native of Liverpool, England played professionally with Blackburn Rovers and Notts Country FC. He owns his U.S. Soccer “A” Coaching License.
