Energy FC & Covarrubias mutually agree to terminate contract

Energy FC and midfielder Alejandro Covarrubias have mutually agreed to terminate his contract the team’s front office announced today.

Covarrubias, originally from southern California appeared in four matches with Energy FC and logged 229 minutes.  He joined OKC after playing the last three seasons with Los Dos (LA Galaxy II).  During the 2016 season, he appeared in 28 games and logged over 2,000 minutes patrolling the midfield for LA Galaxy II.  In total, he appeared in 76 games with Los Dos.

Energy FC returns to the pitch with two matches this week.  The first is their Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match against Moreno Valley SC on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the soccer complex on the campus of the University of Oklahoma.  General admission seating is $10. Energy FC Season Seat Members can attend the match at no charge.

The Greens return to their regular season schedule this Saturday at home at Taft Stadium.  A day full of soccer features the U23s taking on Houston FC at 11 a.m., two Police Athletic League (PAL) championship matches and the Energy FC match against Orange County SC at 7 p.m.  Admission to the three matches before the Energy FC match is free with a paid ticket to the Energy FC match that evening.
