Vancompernolle, Figbe and Haynes added to U23 roster

The Energy FC U23s added defenders Jacob Van Compernolle and Prosper Figbe along with forward Jordan Haynes to the roster, head coach Chris Spendlove announced today. 

Van Compernolle played 38 games in parts of two seasons with Energy FC.  After signing with Energy FC in 2015, he signed with Swope Park in 2016 and appeared in seven matches with the Rangers before being loaned back to Energy FC to finish the season.  Prior to playing pro, the Dallas native played four seasons at UNC-Wilmington where he was named CAA Defensive Player of the Year in 2014.

Originally from Peterborough, Ontario, Haynes was among the first three players signed by the Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2.  He has appeared with Team Canada in the 2013 CONCACAF U-17 Championships and represented the Ontario Provincial Team at the U-14, U-15 and U-16 levels.

Vancompernolle, Haynes and Figbe join midfielders Josh Taylor, Noah Keats, Eric Leonard, Luka Prpa, Nick Hague and Timo Mehlich; forwards Garrett McLaughlin, Ben Conway, Luc Fatton, Julio Moncada, Will Roberts, Sven Koenig and Matthew Puig; defenders Mark Lindstrom, Ty Mobley, Tam Dimario, Hugo Rhoads and R.J. Roberts; goalkeepers Austen Parker, Eric Dick, Ryan Krutz and Cooper Clark as players currently on the U23 roster for the 2017 season.

The U23s open their season in the 1st round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, May 10 on the road against the Tulsa Athletic at 7:30 p.m.
