U23s add University of Charleston teammates to 2017 roster

The Energy FC U23s added defender Tam Dimairo and forward Will Roberts to the roster, head coach Chris Spendlove announced today. 

Dimairo is a 5-7, 150-pound native of Wellington, New Zealand.  During the 2016 campaign, he appeared in nine games and started seven.  Prior to attending Charleston University, he played with the Wellington Phoenix FC and represented New Zealand in the U17 FIFA World Cup.

Roberts was among the top scorers for Charleston University last season with 22 goals and 51 points.  He had three different matches in which he scored at least three goals, including a four-goal effort against Shepard on October 1.  The junior from Denbigh, Wales was also 5-for-5 on penalty kicks.  For his efforts, he was named to the NCAA Division II All American Team.

Dimario and Roberts join midfielders Josh Taylor, Noah Keats, Eric Leonard, Luka Prpa, Nick Hague and Timo Mehlich; forwards Garrett McLaughlin, Ben Conway, Luc Fatton, Julio Moncada, Sven Koenig and Matthew Puig; defenders Mark Lindstrom, Ty Mobley, Hugo Rhoads and R.J. Roberts; goalkeepers Austen Parker, Eric Dick, Ryan Krutz and Cooper Clark as players currently on the U23 roster for the 2017 season.

The U23s open their season in the 1st round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, May 10 on the road against the Tulsa Athletic at 7:30 p.m.
