Energy FC U23 adds duo from VCU to roster

The Energy FCU23s added forward Luc Fatton and defender R.J. Roberts to the roster, head coach Chris Spendlove and Technical Director Scott Rezendes announced today. 

Fatton, a 6-0, 160-pounder from Charlottesville, VA has played the last two seasons at VCU.  During those two seasons, he appeared in 36 matches and scored nine goals and four assists. During the 2016 campaign, he led the team in goals with seven. 

Roberts is a 5-10, 165-pound native of Orlando, FL.  He has appeared in 34 matches with VCU over the last two seasons and started 23.  A member of the A10 championship team, Roberts trained with the Orlando City Academy team before attending VCU.

Fatton and Roberts join midfielders Josh Taylor, Noah Keats and Eric Leonard; forwards Garrett McLaughlin, Ben Conway and Matthew Puig and goalkeepers Austen Parker, Eric Dick and Cooper Clark as players currently on the U23 roster for the 2017 season.

The U23s open their season in the 1st round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, May 10 on the road against the Tulsa Athletic at 7:30 p.m.
