Energy FC goalkeeper Jacob Lissek was signed by FC Dallas to a four-day USL Short Term agreement due to extreme hardship.  He will serve as the backup for by FC Dallas in their match Saturday evening against Sporting KC.

Lissek, a 6-3 keeper from Highlands Ranch, Colorado played collegiately with Farliegh Dickinson where he amassed a 39-21-12 record and a program-best 26 clean sheets.  Following a stint with the Charlotte Independence, Lissek spent the 2016 season with Energy FC.  He appeared in Energy FC’s match against Chivas de Guadalajara on June 28.  One of his saves against the well-known club from Liga MX was voted the Save of the Year by Energy FC fans.

Dallas goalkeeper Chris Seitz suffered a hamstring injury in training earlier this week and is being re-evaluated by the medical staff, but will not be available for selection against Sporting KC. Lissek joined the club in Frisco for training on Wednesday and signed a short-term deal on Thursday.

Each season, each MLS club is allowed a maximum of four USL Short Term Agreement contracts per season for CONCACAF Champions League, U.S. Open Cup, and exhibition matches. Players can be signed for MLS regular season games only in cases of Extreme Hardships when a club has fewer than four available outfield substitutes (less than 14 outfield players available) or has fewer than two goalkeepers available.

Energy FC is in action this weekend in a friendly match against the University of Tulsa at the soccer campus on their campus.  Originally scheduled to be played at 7 p.m. on April 21, heavy rains in the area forced the postponement of the match.  Kickoff is slated for 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 22 and admission is free.
