Former Saint Louis FC Defender Joins Energy FC

OKLAHOMA CITY – OKC Energy FC announced today the signing of defender Sam Fink for the 2017 season. The signing is pending league and USSF approval.

Fink joins Energy FC from Saint Louis FC.  During his time in Saint Louis, he appeared in 53 games and scored four goals for the Missouri side.

“Sam is a player that we thought stood out from Saint Louis,” said Energy FC Head Coach Jimmy Nielsen.  “Game after game, he was strong for his side.  He has everything we are looking for in a center back.”

Fink, a 22-year-old Illinois native, made his USL debut directly after finishing his four-year collegiate career at Wake Forest University in 2014, notching two goals. As a freshman at Wake Forest, Sam started 11 of the 19 matches he played in. By his senior season, the 6-3 defender served as Team Captain, playing every minute of every match.

Sam Fink joins forward Danni König, defender Coady Andrews, defender Kyle Hyland, and midfielder Daniel Gonzalez as players officially signed for the 2017 season.
