Energy FC goalkeeper Cody Laurendi has elected to stay with Energy FC during the team’s playoff run.  Laurendi was one of three players from the USL to earn a call up the Puerto Rico men’s national team and one of ten to earn a call up to a national team competing in the 2016 Scotiabank Caribbean Cup.

Laurendi was recently named to the roster for the Puerto Rico men’s national soccer team.  The Puerto Rico men’s national soccer team is competing in the 3rd round of the 2016 Scotiabank Caribbean Cup.  The Caribbean Cup determines which nations qualify for the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Energy FC won their opening round playoff game in dramatic fashion, scoring two goals in stoppage time to defeat the Rio Grande Valley Toros FC 3-2.  The win puts them in the Western Conference Semifinals for the second straight season.  Energy FC travels to Vancouver to take on the Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 this Saturday at 2 p.m. (ct).
