SAN ANTONIO — OKC Goalkeeper Cody Laurendi registered a second consecutive clean sheet as Energy FC and San Antonio FC played to a scoreless draw Saturday night at Toyota Field.
Laurendi made two saves on the match to shut out San Antonio, despite OKC being outshot 11-4 on the match. The clean sheet was Laurendi's fifth of the season and second in three games against San Antonio, both at Toyota Field.
San Antonio outshot OKC 8-0 in the second half, but solid defensive play by Energy FC defenders Coady Andrews and Cyprian Hedrick limited San Antonio's scoring chances.
Near the 70th minute of play, tempers boiled over following an OKC inbounds throw into the San Antonio six. Following the play, San Antonio keeper Josh Ford shoved Energy FC's Danni König, resulting in a bench-clearing altercation that saw Ford and OKC captain Michael Thomas sent off with red cards.
Energy FC next travels to Kansas City, where the club faces the Swope Park Rangers in a 7:30 p.m. CST start on Tuesday, July 12, at Swope Soccer Village.
