FRISCO, Texas — Carlos Lizarazo scored the decisive goal on a second half penalty kick to lift FC Dallas to a second straight 2-1 win over OKC Energy FC in a preseason friendly between the MLS and USL clubs Sunday at Toyota Stadium.
In the 74th minute of play, FC Dallas’s Weston McKinnie had a partial breakaway high in the OKC box before Energy FC keeper Jacob Lissek made a diving attempt to corral the ball and upended the FC Dallas forward. The play resulted in a penalty kick for FC Dallas, with Lizarazo booting the eventual game-winning score into the right side of the OKC net, past a diving Lissek.
FC Dallas took an early 1-0 lead, when Agustin Jara blasted a score past Energy FC starting goalkeeper C.J. Cochran in the 4th minute of play.
For the second straight match, Michael Byskov provided the lone goal for Energy FC, scoring in the 16th minute off a feed into the box from the right corner by Daniel Jackson, which knotted the score at one goal apiece.
Energy FC’s preseason schedule continues with a pair of friendlies before the club’s home opener on March 26 at Taft Stadium.
