OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (July 18, 2025) — OKC for Soccer, the ambitious project bringing the highest level of women’s and men’s soccer to Oklahoma City, has added four prominent local sports and business executives to the OKC for Soccer Committee.
The OKC for Soccer Committee was established in October 2024. Its mission is to engage civic, business, sports, and cultural leaders from across Oklahoma City in supporting the development of a new professional soccer club that aligns with the city’s collective ambitions and objectives.
The four additions to the committee are Abdullah Ashraf, CEO of Oklahoma United FC, a new amateur soccer club that plays in the National Premier Soccer League; Michael Byrnes, President of Team OKC, the local organization supporting the Olympic movement in Oklahoma City; Kyle Daugherty, President & General Manager of the Oklahoma City Comets baseball team; and Marc Maun, EVP, Special Projects, Bank of Oklahoma. (See below for the complete list of committee members.)
“We continue to be amazed and grateful for the commitment of the OKC business and sports community to help us build a club that all of Oklahoma City can be proud of,” said Court Jeske, President of OKC for Soccer. “Today’s addition of four more local leaders provides the OKC for Soccer project with more invaluable local perspective and unique expertise, ensuring that we do what is right for our club, our community, and our city. We can’t thank the OKC for Soccer Committee members enough for their support.”
The OKC for Soccer Committee is expected to convene next sometime this fall.
The Community Council
Also today, OKC for Soccer has announced the formal establishment of the “OKC for Soccer Community Council,” an advisory panel consisting of members of the local grassroots soccer community. The Council has been an ad hoc committee for the past year.
The OKC for Soccer Community Council will be tasked with providing authentic soccer-centric perspectives to the club, including feedback on the club’s culture, stadium experience, community involvement, and more. In return, Council members will receive, among other benefits, exclusive access to the club, regular engagement about leadership, and the chance to shape the club for years to come.
