Staff and Board Members of Latino Community Development Agency and OKC for Soccer
Oklahoma City, Okla. (May 7, 2025) — The Latino Community Development Agency, the most prominent advocacy organization for the Latino community in Oklahoma, announced today that Echo Founding Partner and CEO Christian Kanady will serve as the Honorary Chair of the 34th Annual LCDA Annual Awards & Recognition Luncheon.
This year’s Annual Luncheon will take place September 17, 2025, at OKC’s National Cowboy & Western Museum.
The LCDA Annual Luncheon, which brings together 600 local leaders, partners, and financial backers to celebrate the LCDA’s achievements and operations, is the culmination of a monthslong fundraising and awareness campaign in support of the LCDA’s community programming. The LCDA currently operates more than 24 programs and two child development centers.
Kanady founded Echo, a multi-strategy investment firm committed to revitalizing American industries, in 2010. In addition to its gas and oil holdings, the firm’s local business interests include landmark commercial real estate properties, film production soundstages, and the majority ownership of OKC for Soccer | OKC es Fútbol, the project to bring high-level men’s and women’s professional soccer to OKC beginning in 2027.
“As we continue building the LCDA and grow our impact in the community, we are thrilled to welcome Christian Kanady as the Honorary Chair of the 34th Annual LCDA Annual Awards & Recognition Luncheon,” said LCDA President and CEO Salvador Ontiveros. “Christian’s dedication to improving the OKC community through Echo Investment Capital, specifically, the OKC for Soccer | OKC es Fútbol project, reflects the LCDA’s own mission of helping the Latino community build strong roots that lead to bright futures. We sincerely thank Christian for his service and support of the LCDA.”
To mark today’s announcement, OKC for Soccer | OKC es Fútbol raised a flag on the spot where the club, in partnership with the city, will build the new MAPS 4 Multipurpose Stadium. The flag reads OKC ES FÚTBOL and will fly for the next several months.
The flag-raising ceremony was hosted by Kanady and other members of the OKC for Soccer executive team and attended by LCDA board members, staff, and members of the 2025 LCDA Annual Luncheon Committee.
“It’s an honor to serve as Honorary Chair of the LCDA Annual Luncheon,” said Christian Kanady. “Community is at the heart of everything we do at OKC for Soccer | OKC es Fútbol. We’re building a club that reflects the spirit, diversity, and pride of Oklahoma City. Raising the OKC es Fútbol flag is more than a symbol—it’s a declaration of our commitment to stand alongside organizations like the LCDA that are making a real difference in people’s lives. This tradition of raising flags will be our way of celebrating and supporting the incredible work happening across our city. We’re proud to begin that journey today.”
