Donasiyano, a versatile attacker, was Nashville’s 2021 SuperDraft pick and made one appearance for the MLS club this season.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Energy FC has acquired midfielder Irakoze Donasiyano on loan from Nashville SC of Major League Soccer the club announced today.

Donasiyano, the No. 20 overall pick in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft, signed for Nashville SC on April 28, making one appearance this season. At the collegiate level, Donasiyano played four seasons at the University of Virginia, appearing in 64 matches, and was a teammate of former Energy FC academy and U23 player Daryl Dike from 2018-19. He also appeared for USL League Two side Daytona Rush SC in 2019.

“I’m very excited because it’s a great opportunity to showcase myself as a player with a very good team,” said Donasiyano. “I’m going to bring a lot of energy [laughs], keep learning and keeping work to better my game each and every day. I love to attack and move the ball forward quickly but I also love to defend and get stuck into tackles – anything that can help the team.”
