OKLAHOMA CITY – Energy FC has loaned defender Sam Rogers to Hamarkameratene of the Norwegian First Division for the remainder of the season, pending league and federation approval, the club announced today.

Hamarkameratene has the option to purchase Rogers for an undisclosed fee at the end of its season, should it secure promotion to Eliteserien, Norway’s top division. The deal also includes a sell-on clause should Rogers’ purchase agreement be activated and he is transferred to another club.

“While we are going to miss Sam, we’re excited for this opportunity for him, which could be greatly beneficial to both clubs,” said interim head coach Leigh Veidman. “We thank Sam for his contributions to the team and wish him nothing but the best.”

Energy FC, coming off a 4-1 win over Memphis 901 FC Saturday night at Taft Stadium, is currently in 4th place in the USL Championship Central Division.

Next up for the Greens is a two-game road trip which includes visits at Atlanta United 2 on Wednesday, August 11 at 6:30 p.m CT and Indy Eleven on Saturday, August 14 at 6 p.m. CT.
