After conceding an early goal, Energy FC came from behind to win 3-1 against North Texas SC Saturday afternoon at Taft Stadium.

Despite putting on the early pressure and looking the more threatening side in the opening minutes, NTX caught the Greens out to grab the first goal of the game at the ten-minute mark.

It didn't take long for OKC to bounce back, however. Frank Lopez scored his second goal of the preseason in the 20th minute, after Rob Coronado played a curling ball in behind the NTX defense. Lopez did well to lose his defender on the turn and bend the ball past the helpless goalkeeper from 15 yards.

The Greens took the lead ten minutes after the second-half restart when Brad Dunwell found Villyan Bijev near the top of the box. Bijev’s first touch allowed him to lob the keeper with the second – a fantastic finish from distance.

Mitch Osmond finished the scoring in the 75th minute, as the Aussie stormed through the box and took advantage of a mix-up from the North Texas defense to get on the end of Coronado’s free kick and lash home from close range.

Energy FC welcomes Austin Bold FC to Taft Stadium on Wednesday, April 14 for another preseason tune-up. That match will also be played behind closed doors.

Energy FC's first match of the regular season is Saturday, April 24 at 7:30 p.m. at Taft Stadium against FC Tulsa. Tickets are still available at energyfc.com/tickets.
