Energy FC was held scoreless for the fifth consecutive match, as Sporting KC II came away with all three points Saturday night at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Mo.

The hosts jumped ahead in the fifth minute. Fredlin Mompremier’s through ball was met by Cody Laurendi, but the keeper didn’t get much on the clearance, setting up Wilson Harris for the lob from the top of the D.

In the 22nd minute, Peter Cuic split the defense with a through ball that found Harris, who took his effort from the top of the box first time to beat Laurendi low and to the left corner.

SKC’s third and final goal came from a corner kick in the 66th minute delivered by Mompremier. The inswinger was met by the foot of Daniel Barbir, before taking a deflection that sent it into the back of the net.

Energy FC remains on six points and in fourth place in Group D.

The Greens return to OKC for the penultimate home match of the 2020 regular season next Sunday, August 30 at 5 p.m. Tickets are on sale now.
