OKLAHOMA CITY – Energy FC has signed midfielder Arun Basuljevic, pending league and federation approval, Head Coach John Pascarella announced today. Basuljevic joins OKC from USL Championship side Fresno FC.

Basuljevic, a 24-year-old from Mahopac, New York, made 22 appearances for Fresno FC in 2019, scoring four goals. After playing three years and earning collegiate honors at Georgetown University, Basuljevic signed a Homegrown Contract with New York Red Bulls of Major League Soccer, where he scored two goals in 27 appearances while on loan with New York Red Bulls II.

Basuljevic spent 2018 with Danish 1st Division club Fremad Amager, and made six appearances before signing with Swedish Division 1 Norra side Nykopings BIS.

“Arun is someone I’ve tracked for a long time all the way back to his time at Georgetown University,” said Pascarella. “He’s very cerebral about the game and has a lot of bite which you don’t often see in technical players. When you watch him as a no. 10, he moves the ball and is very creative, but when he loses it, he has a lot of grit in terms of trying to get it back. He has some great qualities, and the fans are really going to enjoy watching him play.”

Basuljevic is the ninth player under contract for the 2020 season. He joins:

Goalkeepers: Cody Laurendi

Defenders: Atiba Harris, Kyle Hyland, Nicolas Taravel

Midfielders: Jonathan Brown, Rafael Garcia

Forwards: Cordell Cato, Omar Gordon

Season seats for the 2020 season are on sale now. Visit energyfc.com or call 235-KICK for more information.
