OKLAHOMA CITY – OKC Energy FC announced on Tuesday it had elected not to extend the contract of Head Coach Steve Cooke beyond the 2019 USL Championship season.

“We want to thank Steve for his hard work and dedication since day one with Oklahoma City Energy FC,” said General Manager Jason Hawkins. “We wish him nothing but success in the future.”

Cooke was Energy FC’s Head Coach for the past two seasons and led the club to a league record of 21-29-18 as OKC fell short of reaching the USL Championship Playoffs in both campaigns. The side finished the 2019 season in 15th place in the Western Conference as it went winless in its final eight games of the campaign.

Energy FC announced a search for its new Head Coach was underway.
