Deshorn Brown scored his 14th goal of the season, but five unanswered goals from LA Galaxy II gave the hosts the points Saturday night in Carson, Calif.

The Greens got out to an early lead through Deshorn Brown in the 7th minute. Brown picked up a loose backpass, turned his defender and slotted past the onrushing to Justin von Steeg.

In the 23rd minute, the Galaxy leveled the score. Kai Koreniuk’s strike from well outside the penalty area flew into the top right corner of the goal, leaving Cody Laurendi with no chance to make the save.

Los Dos took the lead just before the break when Mohammed Kamara cut the ball back from the endline after getting on the end of a through ball down the right wing. Kamara’s pass found Ethan Zubak waiting near the penalty spot, and the striker placed his shot into the back of the net.

Zubak scored his second in the 73rd minute after dribbling by Christian Ibeagha in the box and firing past Laurendi with a left-footed finish into the side netting.

The hosts added a fourth in the 80th minute. Kamara’s shot from close range was blocked off the line by a combination of Callum Ross and Laurendi, but Augustine Williams was there for the tap-in.

Three minutes later, LA scored its fifth and final goal when Jose Hernandez received the ball in the box and was able to chip it past Laurendi.

Energy FC will be away again next Saturday, October 5, as they take on Orange County SC at 9 p.m CDT.
