Week 15 Part 1 Recap

Energy FC (6th, 5-4-6, 21 points) return home after spending 10 days on the road in a grueling set of fixtures. The Greens were handed their first loss in the last eight matches in all competitions, as MLS’s FC Dallas advanced to the next round of the U.S. Open Cup with a 4-0 victory.

Week 15 Part 2 Preview

Focus quickly shifts back to USL Championship play, where the Greens haven’t lost in their last five matches, as San Antonio FC (16th, 4-7-3, 15 points) visits Taft Stadium Saturday night. Despite sitting near the bottom of the table, SAFC are only four points off a playoff spot and are coming off a 3-2 home win over Reno 1868 FC. Ever Guzman, who found the back of the net in a 2-1 win at Taft last season, opened the scoring for San Antonio, and Ethan Bryant and Jose Gallegos added the second and third, respectively, to overturn a 2-0 deficit last Saturday.

Guzman leads San Antonio with five goals and 22 shots, and Brian Gomez has the most assists with three. Gomez, Bradford Jamieson and Jack Barmby have all chipped in with three goals.

For OKC, Deshorn Brown and Omar Gordon lead the way with eight goals and six assists, respectively. That puts the Jamaican duo at fourth best in the USL Championship in both categories.

In addition to the SAFC win in OKC last year, the teams played to a 1-1 draw in San Antonio in 2018's other matchup. The all-time record between the clubs has been incredibly tight, with OKC winning twice, SAFC winning once and the sides playing to eight draws.

New signing Jon Brown will be available for selection Saturday night and is expected to make his 2019 debut for OKC after being cup-tied against FC Dallas. Christian Eissele is also back from injury after suffering a facial fracture against the Tampa Bay Rowdies on May 28.

Saturday’s match, which will also be Pride Night at Taft Stadium, kicks off at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are available at energyfc.com/june or by calling 235-KICK.
