Energy FC were unable to extend their unbeaten run, as they fell to FC Dallas, 4-0, in the Fourth Round of the U.S. Open Cup.

Four matches in 11 days with a thin roster took its toll against a good Dallas side Wednesday night at Westcott Field at Southern Methodist University.

FC Dallas got off to a good start and never really looked back.

Michael Barrios delivered an outswinging corner kick in the 11th minute, and Matt Hedges was able to head it down and to the corner to give the hosts the early lead.

Dallas nearly doubled the lead in the 26th minute when Dominique Badji got in behind the OKC defense, but Cody Laurendi was quick off his line to close down the space and make the save.

OKC earned a few free kicks from distance as the half progressed but were unable to really threaten Dallas goalkeeper Jimmy Mauer

FCD got a second goal in the 43rd minute when Ricardo Pepi found Barrios wide on the right. Barrios created a little space and picked out the far post with a low shot from a tight angle.

Two minutes after the second half restart, Dallas found a third. Jesus Ferreira went low and direct with a corner kick to find Badji near the top of the penalty area, and his powerful, first-time shot was able to beat Laurendi.

Second-half substitute Christian Eissele tested Mauer in the 65th minute when Alexy Bosetti’s through ball found him in the box. The striker’s cross-shot was knocked away by Mauer and cleared from danger, though.

Kal Okot came inches from pulling one back in the 72nd minute. A weak clearance fell to Okot, and the midfielder’s left-footed half volley looked destined for the side netting but just missed wide.

Dallas scored the final goal of the match in the 89th minute when Christian Ibeagha was called for a foul in the box. Reto Ziegler stepped up to take the penalty, and his low shot to the corner just sneaked past Laurendi's fingertips.

The Greens return home to Taft Stadium this Saturday, June 15 to face San Antonio F.C. at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are available by calling 235-KICK or by visiting energyfc.com/june.
