Shawn McLaws is an old fashioned success story in the world of soccer.  Born and raised in Edmond, Oklahoma, the success of McLaws proves that one can play soccer in Oklahoma and play at the highest level possible.

A graduate of Deer Creek High School, McLaws cut his soccer teeth with Oklahoma Football Club (OFC) and continued with time spent with the ODP Program.  Following that path of success, he played four years at Costal Carolina before being drafted by New York Red Bulls.  Two seasons with Harrisburg City Islanders (now Penn FC), has McLaws poised for success in OKC.

With Harrisburg, he played in 57 games, logged 5,043 minutes and added two assists.  Last season, he led his team in passes attempted with 1,206.

OFC, now known as Oklahoma Energy FC (OEFC) continues to have success at the national level.  One of those players that has enjoyed success with OEFC is McLaws’ younger brother Matthew.  The younger McLaws scored three goals as the ’01 Boys team earned a trip to the U.S. Youth Soccer National Finals.
