Perhaps the most highly-touted free agent signing of 2017 for Energy FC was the addition of Miguel Gonzalez.  He came to OKC having scored 16 goals in 53 matches over two seasons with the Colorado Springs Switchbacks.  Following a season when Energy FC scored just 32 goals, a player like Miguel might be just what the doctor ordered.

He didn’t disappoint.

The older brother of Energy FC veteran Daniel Gonzalez finished second on the team in goals scored with eight and provided a variety of different attack options for the club.  His speed and nose for the net, combined with the speed of Alex Dixon, the size of Wojciech Wojcik and the left-footed power of Jose Angulo made the Energy FC front line one to be reckoned with.

Oh…did we mention the bicycle kick goal?

Who remembers April 11 against Sacramento?  Following a Michael Harris flip throw in, Gonzalez converted on a bicycle-kick goal to propel Energy FC to a 1-0 win and worldwide attention for Energy FC and the USL.  His goal was named the #1 play in the Sportscenter Top 10 and garnered nearly 15 million views through various social channels.

The return of Gonzalez to the roster provides Energy FC with a solid foundation for 2018 as well as a versatile player that has a proven track record of success in the USL.
