The Oklahoma City Energy FC U23s season came to an end with a 1-0 loss to FC Miami City in the PDL Southern Conference Semifinals.

Early in the match, Energy FC had the first opportunity as Christian Okeke worked himself free and he fired a shot toward the Miami goalkeeper.

The first and only goal of the match was scored in the 18th minute by FC Miami City.  Hamza Mourchid worked his way around a U23s defender and sent a ball across the box that was deposited in the goal by Naim Hamdi.

In the second half, Energy FC started with a different pace than the first half and created many opportunities that were turned aside.  A lengthy period of stoppage time allowed both teams a couple of different opportunities to score, but neither team was able.

FC Miami City moves on to the Southern Conference Finals to face the winner of the Mississippi Brilla FC / SIMA Aguilas match.  The Southern Conference Finals are July 22 at 7 p.m.

The U23 squad finished the regular season with a 12-1-1 mark.  Individually, Julio Mondaca led the team with 11 goals, which was good for 6th in the PDL and goalkeeper Eric Dick played every minute of every game and posted five shutouts.  Both Moncada and Dick were named to the PDL Top 50 Prospects list.
