U23s add Norman North and NYSA Celtic Alumni Krutz to roster

The Energy FC U23s added goalkeeper Ryan Krutz to the roster for the 2017 season, head coach Chris Spendlove and Technical Director Scott Rezendes announced today. Contract is pending USL PDL and U.S. Soccer Federation approval.

Krutz is a Norman native and graduate of the Norman Youth Soccer Association (NYSA) Celtic program and was the starting keeper for the ’97 Green team for four seasons.  As a freshman, Krutz led the Norman North High School team to the 6A State Title and the ESPN Fab 50 spring champion.

Following his freshman year, he transferred to Blue Valley North High School in Overland Park, KS where he began training with the Sporting Kansas City Academy teams.  As a junior, he played with the Sporting KC U-16 Academy squad and served as team captain.  During his senior season, he played with the Sporting KC U-18 Academy squad.  During both his junior and senior seasons, he trained with Sporting KC’s first team.

He is currently enrolled at Notre Dame where he is a member of the soccer team.

Krutz joins midfielders Josh Taylor, Noah Keats and Eric Leonard; forwards Garrett McLaughlin, Ben Conway, Luc Fatton and Matthew Puig; defender R.J. Roberts and goalkeepers Austen Parker, Eric Dick and Cooper Clark as players currently on the U23 roster for the 2017 season.

The U23s open their season in the 1st round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, May 10 on the road against the Tulsa Athletic at 7:30 p.m.
