Energy FC U23 squad adds teammates from Butler University

The Energy FCU23s added midfielder Eric Leonard and goalkeeper Eric Dick to the roster, head coach Chris Spendlove and Technical Director Scott Rezendes announced today. 

Leonard recently finished his third season as a member of the Butler Bulldogs.  The 5-9, 165-pounder from Palatine, IL has appeared in 52 matches over three seasons with Butler and has scored five goals and seven assists.  Following the 2014 campaign, Leonard was named to the BIG EAST All Rookie Team.

Dick is a 6-5 goalkeeper from Carmel, IN.  The three-year starter at Butler has appeared in 49 matches for the Bulldogs and has a 26-14-9 record, .92 goals against average.  Of his 26 wins, 18 have come via shutout.  His seven clean sheets in 2016 was tied for second in the BIG EAST.  He was named 2nd Team All BIG EAST during the 2015 season and has been named to the BIG EAST Team of the Week on multiple occasions.

The teammates from Butler join midfielders Josh Taylor and Noah Keats, forwards Garrett McLaughlin and Ben Conway and goalkeeper Austen Parker as players currently on the U23 roster for the 2017 season.

The U23s open their season in the 1st round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, May 10 on the road against the Tulsa Athletic at 7:30 p.m.
