Energy FC unveiled their new kits for the 2017 season at the first Sidekicks event of the season at Soccer City.
The home kit is a base white jersey with green stripes, while the road kit is a base blue with a green and blue checkerboard pattern on the sleeve. The Under Armour logo appears on the right chest area of both jerseys while the Energy FC logo appears on the left chest.
In February, Energy FC and Under Armour signed a deal for the first all-encompassing youth and professional soccer apparel partnership for the Under Armour brand in North America. As part of the ground-breaking, multi-year agreement, Under Armour will outfit the Energy FC professional team, Energy FC U23 PDL team and its youth partners across the city.
The Sidekicks program pairs an Energy FC player with an athlete from Special Olympics Oklahoma, TopSoccer, Autism Oklahoma or the Downs Syndrome Association of Central Oklahoma. The Energy FC player and athlete participate in three events during the season and create a life-long bond.
"Debuting the new kits at an event like this is a fun way to showcase our partnership with Under Armour while being good stewards of the community," said Energy FC co-owner Bob Funk Jr. "The Sidekicks program is one we're proud to participate in. I know that our players find their association with the athletes from Special Olympics Oklahoma, Autism Oklahoma, TopSoccer and the Downs Syndrom Association of Central Oklahoma to be as rewarding as anything they do all season. I can't think of a better group to be the first to wear our new kits."
The road kits will be put to use during Energy FC’s first game of the season this Saturday on the road against the Swope Park Rangers at 7:30 p.m. The match can be seen locally on the newly re-branded News9 Plus. The home kits will be seen in action for the first time at Energy FC’s home opener on April 8.
Tickets for the home opener and the new kits can be ordered at Energyfc.com.
