OKLAHOMA CITY – OKC Energy FC announced on Wednesday the signing of defender Sam Fink for the 2017 season. The signing is pending league and USSF approval.

Fink joins Energy FC from Saint Louis FC. During the past two seasons in Saint Louis, Fink made 53 appearances for the club, including playing every minute of every game in the regular season in 2015. Fink also scored four goals for the side.

“Sam is a player that we thought stood out from Saint Louis,” said Energy FC Head Coach Jimmy Nielsen.  “Game after game, he was strong for his side.  He has everything we are looking for in a center back.”

A 23-year-old Illinois native, Fink joined Saint Louis after a four-year collegiate career at Wake Forest University in 2014, where he scored a pair of goals. As a freshman at Wake Forest, Fink started 11 of the 19 matches he played in. By his senior season, the 6-foot-3 defender served as the Demon Deacons’ captain, playing every minute of every match that season.

Fink joins forward Danni König, defender Coady Andrews, defender Kyle Hyland, and midfielder Daniel Gonzalez as players officially signed for the 2017 season.
